It's All Fun and Games? - Building a Motivational Profile of Autistic Gamers
Elliot is a final year undergraduate student at the University of Glasgow and is supervised by Dr David Simmons. He is going to present his undergraduate research focusing on autistic gamers. Abstract. Video Games are an increasingly important part of the lives of autistic adolescents and adults. Prior research suggests that they could function as a fun and safe space for social interaction and development. This work is looking at the interactions between autistic traits and motivations to play video games. The results and feedback suggest that games could be a useful future avenue for research, especially when taken from the perspective of Intolerance of Uncertainty.
