Writing Registered Reports
Publication bias distorts the scientific record and can give a false impression of the robustness of published results. Publication bias is neutralised in Registered Reports, a new publication format in which the rationale, methods, and analysis plan are peer reviewed prior to data collection or analyses and an in principal acceptance can be given. This short talk will introduce and highlight useful online resources for writing Registered Reports. I will also discuss some of the misconceptions about the format and discuss the key lessons I have learnt from preparing my first Registered Reports.
