Early EEG literature and oscillatory research today: Links and Lessons

As scientists, our interpretation of results is often strongly informed by the current understanding given in “the literature”. In turn, the results themselves are produced by applying methods and analysis that are also influenced by this same current understanding. In this talk, I try to make a case for the benefits of looking further back into the earliest EEG literature as a means of refreshing or questioning our current understanding of brain oscillations.
