Seminar Series

Neuroanatomy and state dependent mechanisms

The brains function is defined and constrained by the brains anatomical organization. In this session we will discuss some of the recent advances in our understanding of local cortical microcircuits and the inter-areal connectivity, such as feed-forward and feed-back connections. In addition we look at studies highlighting how the recurrent connectivity shapes cortical activation states, which have recently been shown to have a profound impact on brain function.
