Synchronized permutation tests for factorial designs

Resampling-based solutions have a number of advantages over more traditional parametric techniques for data analysis, but they are rarely used for factorial designs, because of difficulty of obtaining orthogonal estimates for main effects in the presence of an interaction. In my presentation I will first give a basic introduction to permutation tests. Then, I will discuss how to implement the "synchronized permutation test" solution developed by Pesarin (2001) and Salmaso (2003) for factorial designs. Pesarin, F. (2001).
