Inferring cortical networks underlying perceptual decision-making using multimodal neuroimaging

The neural basis of decision-making has recently become one of the central topics in systems and cognitive neuroscience. In this talk I will discuss our recent progress in understanding the neural correlates of perceptual decision making and illustrate that a multimodal approach which brings together neuroimaging, computational modelling and advanced multivariate data analysis techniques can be used to identify distributed networks associated with decision making while at the same time provide causal and mechanistic evidence for the functional contribution of the brain regions comprising these networks.
