Understanding random effects structure in mixed effects models, and the importance of "keeping it maximal"

I'll be discussing a paper on linear mixed-effects models (LMEMs) that I've been working on with Roger Levy, Christoph Scheepers, and Hal Tily, which attempts to develop standards for the use of mixed effects models to analyze experimental data. The talk will include a non-technical intro to LMEMs. You can read the latest draft of our paper at (comments are of course welcome)
