(Institutional values: discovery, learning, citizenship) Organizational change being effected by bringing the centrally produced research-strategies and the teaching and learning strategies together as an ‘Academic Plan’. Institutional implementation has focused upon professional development, resource provision, amended administrative structures, celebrating approaches to research-teaching linkages and evaluating the success of initiatives. In terms of how this translates into curriculum redesign, this has involved four different approaches (cf Weutherick & Turner, 2006):

1. students learning about research;

2. students developing research skills;

3. students experiencing and doing research;

4. foundation level experiences.
