RESOLVING ELLIPSIS IN MONOLOGUE, AND SOON, MAYBE, DIALOGUE: EVIDENCE FROM EVENT-RELATED BRAIN POTENTIALS
Language comprehension and production involve linking linguistic representations through time, via a noisy and fallible human information processing system. In this talk, I will present electrophysiological evidence for a particular memory architecture for linguistic representations that is vulnerable to factors known to affect general memory performance. I will explore the extension of said architecture to more a naturalistic dialogue paradigm.
