An MEG investigation of word frequency.

Word frequency is one of the strongest predictors of processing speed on lexical decision tasks to visually presented words. Previous MEG studies assessing frequency effects have largely assessed the modulation of MEG components such as the M350 using very small stimuli sets which were often presented repeatedly. The repetition of low frequency words in particular increases their frequency during such experiments, and the M350 has since been linked to repetition effects and other word properties. This study aims to resolve such findings with a large set of high frequency and low frequency words presented singularly in a word/non word task using MEG.
